Many utilities use ports 7 or 9, but you can use any port you like for WoL. Set up a permanent IP for my desktop ( 10.0.1.3).Īnd set up the public address through teamviewer using my routers ip address (not the 10.0.1.3 one - Its one that Airport Utility says is the routers IP, if I use the 10.3 one it pops up an error message on Teamviewer when I try to enter it as the public address). What port does Wake-on-LAN use Wake-on-LAN uses a UDP (User Datagram Protocol) port.

I opened port 9 in AirPort Utility (apple router). For example, if the client address is 192.168.1.12, the broadcast address used in the packet would be 192.168.1.255. It may be necessary to change the address to broadcast the packet to the whole network. So far I have:ĭisabled "EuP 2013" and enabled "Resume by PCI-E Device" in my BIOS (Having my parents do this through Facetime while I tell them what to do - not fun). If an IP address is specified in the magic packet, then the network switch may not properly broadcast it to the whole network. I have watched numerous tutorial videos and read the user manual that teamviewer provides to set up wake-on-lan but I still cannot get the computer to boot. Right now I am in college using a sad Macbook air and want to play games on my desktop (windows 10) back home using Nvidia GameStream but I don't want to leave my home desktop running for days.

The TLDR is im trying to set up Wake-on-LAN using teamviewer. Not sure if this is the right subreddit but r/teamviewer seems to be very inactive sooo guess ill try here.
